Jake and Neytiri find their family. Tsireya also joins them on rocks, pulling Neteyam up to lay him flat. Jake checks his back, seeing no exit wound as a good sign.
The eldest son grows weak, and he's in pain. But he's okay.
"What happened?" Jake demands.
"Spider shot him," Lo'ak answers.
Neytiri turns to Jake, giving him an 'I told you so' look, as she never liked him. Jake, on the other hand, feels angry. He almost feels betrayed even, as he always stuck up for him.
"Where's Kiri?" Tuk asks.
Neteyam cannot speak between his grunting, remembering that she should have been saved with Ao'nung and Roxto. But to his surprise, Ao'nung swims up onto the rocks, uniting with Tsireya.
"W-Where is Kiri?" He asks Ao'nung.
The boy's face is horrified by Neteyam being shot, and experiencing another flee for his life. "Kiri swam off to look for you. I went after her, but the Skypeople .. their boats..."
Jake puts a hand on Ao'nung's shoulder, eyes thanking him for even trying to go after Kiri.
(Y/N) makes a horrifying realization: she must be on the ship. She turns to Lo'ak, kissing his forehead as she stands. Jake sees the look on her face.
"You're not going alone," he assures her. She gives him a confused look, wondering why he would help her after Spider shot Neteyam. She expected to be disliked after her brother's actions.
Lo'ak stands as well, holding her hand. "I'm coming too."
Neteyam gives his mom a nod, motioning for her to go. The mother looks to Tsireya, who agrees to stay with the wounded alongside her brother.
"Tuk, stay with your brother," she instructs her youngest. She stands, nodding to (Y/N). She sees the girl's fighting spirit, even if it is against her own twin. She trusts (Y/N).
They all set out to find Kiri.
After seeing her family swim off, and her mother taking off on an ikran, Tuk dives into the water. Neteyam struggles to sit up, Tsireya staying with him as he pleads, "Tuk, stay here!"
The little girl continues, insisting, "Sullys stick together!" She's determined to help her parents get her sister back. Tsireya looks to her brother, her expression telling Ao'nung to go after the young one. After seeing the same expression in Neteyam's eyes, Ao'nung dives into the water.

(Y/N) and Lo'ak ride his ilu, careful of the debris Payakan has left behind after further fighting with the humans.
The ship is heavily damaged, and in the process of sinking. Spider is struggling to find his dad, who grows more and more fearful as he finds Neytiri's arrows in the bodies of his dead soldiers.
Spider also worries, never meaning to shoot Neteyam. He fears he's made the wrong decision from the start. He worries his friends won't understand that it was an accident, shooting Neteyam.
With Kiri captured, Quaritch holds her tightly as a human shield. He knows Neytiri won't shoot him if he has her daughter.
He continues cautiously though, knowing Jake will come for his daughter. It's Jake that he wants.
-
(Y/N) is onboard, knife in hand. She plans to be a distraction, so that Jake can figure out how to get Kiri out from under Quaritch's arm. She rounds a corner, just as Quaritch does too.
"You...?" Quaritch is confused to see his daughter in an Avatar now.
"Why so blue?" She asks, noticing his expression toward her blue skin. She narrows her eyes. "Let her go," she warns. "Kiri is innocent in all this."
Spider is still looking for his father. He finds Neytiri, killing anyone who crosses her path. He fears her violent actions, as she rages over the shooting of her son. He begins to worry for himself, knowing Neytiri has always hated him.
But Spider can hear his dad's voice. He tries to sneak by to find him.
"I was innocent too," Quaritch tells (Y/N). "Neytiri didn't have to kill me."
(Y/N) knows this isn't true. "I'm glad she did."
Spider sees Kiri. He wanted his Avatar for her, he cares for her the most. He runs out, shouting to his father, "Don't hurt her!"
He's still holding a gun, an aims toward his father. This shocks the man, making him hold Kiri tighter in response. The girl in his grasp is hurt by Spider holding a gun. He's always wielded a bow and arrow. She sees this as a subtle hint that Spider wants to be with his father — an evil person.
"Back off, Spider." (Y/N) is worried about the gun being involved again, after Neteyam. She doesn't want anyone else shot.
The boy looks at his twin in disgust, angry at how they've grown so far apart. The twins and their father all exchange looks, no one on the same side as the other – Spider is angry at his father for holding Kiri hostage.
"Drop the gun, Miles." She calls her brother by his real name. This angers him. He turns to aim his gun toward her. This lowers the risk of Kiri being shot, just as (Y/N) has planned.
Neytiri sees the girl in trouble, as well as her daughter. She rushes behind Spider, knocking the gun out of his hand and holding him at knifepoint.
The gun slides into the water, as the ship is angled as it sinks.
"Mom, don't!" Kiri still cares for Spider, not wanting him hurt.
Quaritch and Neytiri lock eyes. She warns him, "A son for a son." No, Neteyam has not died. But she still wants Spider dead for shooting him.
"You think I care about some kid?" Quaritch bluffs. "He's not mine. We're not even the same species."
Neytiri cuts Spider's chest, scaring the boy enough to plead. "Dad, please!"
Neytiri waits, seeing Quaritch's bluff. Then, she holds her knife high, ready to plunge it into the human boy.
"NO!" Quaritch holds his hands up, releasing Kiri. She runs to her father, as Jake is stepping into view.
Then, a muffled gunshot fires. The bullet hitting Quaritch in the arm.
