Soumya had just turned off the stove when she heard footsteps approaching the kitchen. An automatic smile appeared on her face because she knew who it was even without having to look. They hadn't gotten a moment of privacy the entire day apart from the one quick stolen kiss before breakfast. She had a busy day at the clinic and he was at the hospital preparing for his grandfather's discharge.
"That's a nice shawl,"
Rudra's comment made her smile grow wider. "Why? Thank you," she said turning around to face him. Holding up the end of the red and yellow shawl she had paired with an all-white salwar kameez, she added, "Someone very special gifted it to me."
"Did he?" Rudra teased, leaning against the wall of the kitchen entrance.
"Uh-huh!"
"Is that why you stuffed it in your closet and didn't take it out for the last month and a half?"
Soumya narrowed her eyes at his accusation. "It's because this shawl is very special to me and I don't want to ruin it by wearing it every day."
"Is it?" he teased.
She rolled her eyes. Arranging the cups on the tray, she asked, "What are you doing here? You know someone will get suspicious."
He smiled while walking to her. Taking the vessel from her, he began pouring the tea in the teapot. "Akash is keeping a lookout, so don't worry we have some time. Especially, since everyone knows how long you take to make tea."
