We all sat around the coffee table or on the couch.
She liked sitting on the floor while eating so all of us except Adrian occupied it.
He stood at the island to eat.
We warned her.
In this moment she was more Adrian's that any of ours.
He knew her past because he's a great eavesdropper when Eli goes over his recordings of his talks with her.
He knew what all learned.
He knew what she confided in me for before he met her.
So he studied her while she ate.
This was his way of caring for her I suppose. He was like this with all of us, making sure we eat at least three meals, making sure we all drink water.
It was sweet.
But none of us never had issues with food.
Meanwhile, she forgets to eat religiously.
She put on a cartoon called Winx, about these fairies and I couldn't lie, it was kind of good.
She spooned more rice into her mouth.
She finished the rice with ease, halfway done with the wontons but she started eating them again.
I looked at Adrian.
He looked at me.
"Relax." I mouthed.
He looked down at his plate.
He ate without looking at her for a few bites, watching some of the show, but the inevitable happened. He was back on her.
When she finished her food he watched her stand and come to the island.
"Can I try some of the noodles you got?" She asked and he handed her the box.
She put some onto her plate.
He looked at his plate, taking a breath before standing and rinsing his own off.
"Dishwasher clean or dirty?"
"Clean. Set it in the sink and I can get them."
But he opened the dishwasher, opened all of her cabinets and drawers and put things away as he saw it.
She ate standing at the island.
I relaxed knowing he was distracting himself and was able to watch the show.
"Can I have more or do you want them for leftovers?" She asked.
"Eat." He answered softly and she did a small dance as she ate.
"Did you eat today? Other than this?" Eli asked.
"No."
Adrian kept his back turned but I heard the breath he took.
"You can't keep skipping on food like that. Even if you don't feel hungry it doesn't mean you skip meals." I explained.
"I know. I'm sorry, I'm trying to do better but I really didn't think about it." She frowned.
"Alright, well from now on we're gonna remind you. That doesn't mean you push it off later. It means you eat when we text." Elias told her.
"Okay."
She kept eating and he finished that, putting his dish away.
"Chicken?" He asked and she stabbed one with her fork and ate it.
He put away the things she didn't eat into her fridge.
We all took turns changing in her bathroom to be polite.
Eli took the basket of the messy clothes to Micah's car.
We all wore shirts and sweats of sorts.
Adrian went outside with Eli.
"He's scary."
"I know." I frowned.
"In a good way but still." She smiled.
"I'm glad you enjoy it. People rarely do."
She went and sat beside Axel who's been nervous all night.
She started talking to him and asking him about his tattoos.
She played with his rings and talked his ear off.
We all stayed in her kitchen, sort of pretending to not listen but we totally were.
Adrian stood beside me.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I don't want to creep her out." He mumbled.
"She said you scare her in a good way." I told him and he smiled a bit.
I kissed his cheek.
"Stop biting." Axel said.
"Sorry." She mumbled before messing with his rings.
He listened as she told him all about the Winx fairies mission and why it's such a good show.
He just watched her, listening.
It was clear admiration was in his eyes.
Then she told him about another show called Ever After High and explained the plot to him and who the characters were.
"Put it on." He said and she turned to grab her remote when she looked back at us.
"Oh. Wanna watch this other show?" She smiled.
"Sure." I nodded and we all sat around the couch, watching this show.
This shit was good.
Daughters and sons of popular Disney tales without it actually being Disney is genius.
Lowkey loving Apple White. But she said Raven Queen is better further in the serious which I debated her on but she told me to just see for myself.
We watched this shit and I swear, fucking plot twist with the well and the Alice in Wonderland shit.
But she was right.
Apple is a bit twisted and Raven is better morally.
I didn't give a fuck. Apple was the shit.
We were all invested.
She ended up falling asleep on Axel and Micah on the couch, we continued the show, Eli standing and grabbing a blanket from her room, setting it over her.
Adrian scooted closer to me and Eli was on his other side.
"They can't just- that Cheshire cat is a total ass! Just ruined a perfectly good festival. Fuck the bitch and her trying to make her daughter a little rat." Adrian grumbled.
I laughed.
"No because why is that a good prank? It's not a prank. They fucked with the worlds and everything. Now Maddie is STUCK!" Eli yelled at the TV.
"Shh." We all shushed.
"Sorry. But jeez." He whispered.
"She's smart. She's from there." Axel answered.
"Yeah, I hope it goes good." Eli whispered.
I laughed and we completely finished the show in one night.
Hopefully she doesn't hate us for it.
