Micah Kole
She smiled as I beat her for the fifth time in connect four.
"Ass." She flipped me off.
I laughed.
We went to the beer tent and gave them our ID's.
They put a pink bracelet on the both of us.
She was 22, we all sat between 27 and 30. I was 28.
She didn't seem to make any comment as we went to the counter.
She got the Apple Orchard and I got the same.
I paid and she frowned.
But I ignored her.
We sat and she sipped the beer.
"Favorite color?" I asked.
"Black. Or red. Or really dark purple. I don't know." She shrugged.
"Mmmm favorite food?"
"That damn burger." She laughed.
"Burger girl?"
"No. I'm a bread and pasta girl. But I'm in a phase."
"Gotcha. Favorite movie?"
"Mmm the original Scream."
"Why?"
"Skeet Ulrich, one of the boys who play Ghostface is fine as fuck." Her pupils dilated as she spoke about him and I hummed.
"Guilty pleasure?"
"Food or in general?"
"Both."
"Food, toasted bagels and extra cream cheese. In general, masked, horrifying men in corn mazes." She chuckled.
I took note of that.
"Careful. Don't make me jealous on the first date." I played it off like I was teasing.
I wasn't.
"Jealous? This is like a kiddy land, I doubt there's anything good here."
I smiled and sipped my beer.
"Favorite band?"
"Bad Omens. And Chase Atlantic. The Neighborhood. Fuck. There's too many." She sighed.
"Fair. Mmm favorite song?"
"Mine by Sleep Token."
"Good taste."
"You know that song?"
"I do."
She nodded.
"Do you like owning a business?"
"Yes. As an owner I make my own schedule. I don't have to work at all if I wanted and would still make the money."
"That's genius."
"I'd say so. But I don't wanna talk about myself. Favorite thing about yourself."
"God that's hard. I don't really like much about myself." She frowned.
"That cannot possibly be true." I glared.
"I mean, I like the way my neck looks when I wear silver jewelry. I feel more feminine for sure. I look weird without it." She touched the necklace she currently wore.
"I love your neck. Weird comment. But it's very... attractive? God the words aren't coming out right." I smiled and she grinned.
"You're sweet."
"I try."
"Try again. Something you like about yourself." I repeated.
"I'm kind to people."
"Mmm good one. Tell me another."
"Uhm... my height. I like being taller."
"Another good one. Keep going."
"I like my voice."
"Agreed."
"I like splurging money on myself occasionally."
I nodded.
"I like how certain types of shirts look on me."
"Absolutely."
"I like my chest? No not really. Sometimes." She shrugged.
"Why?"
"They're nice. But I don't know. They don't suit my body."
"I'd disagree."
"Well one opinions doesn't change much." She smiled.
"Does five?"
Her face reddened.
"Be realistic."
She sipped her beer.
"I like your hair." I said.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"I feel like you don't like my answers."
"I don't." I shrugged.
"Why?"
"Because you don't see yourself correctly. But it's alright. We can fix that." I shrugged.
"We?"
"Mmhm."
"You were serious when you said I was having a date with each of you?"
"Absolutely."
"Alright." She seemed to struggle imagining that.
"It goes me, then Lux, Eli, Adrian, then Axel."
"How much time do I have to digest in between?"
"Not much. It's all within the next two weeks. We all want to know you differently and separately."
She nodded, unsure.
"I forgot to be polite. I'm sorry. We are looking for a woman to be our sixth. Just one more, we aren't in open relationships, so it's just us five and for example, you. That's it. No one goes outside of it, we are all very possessive and if you're comfortable, we'd really like to know you. But that's of course if you'd be alright with that situation." I explained.
She sighed.
"Then if you like each date, we can all go on one together. You don't have to say yes. I'm just eager and getting ahead of myself."
She chewed her lip.
Anxious tell according to Eli.
"Stop." I whispered and she did.
I nodded and she frowned.
"That'd be okay."
"Yeah?" I smiled.
She hummed in agreement.
"Good. Finish your beer so we can go look around."
